What We Say: Oh baby, what a film! Reminiscent of other modern suspense/horror classics, the only thing that upset us was the idea that this will be made into a shitty franchise, eventually pitting its lead villain Jigsaw in a WCW cage match against Freddy and Predator. Enjoy it now before your nephew has it on his lunchbox.

The Lowdown: Silence of the Lambs meets The Usual Suspects.

Best Bit: Sitting and realizing that some writer actually thought up this sick shit.

Starring: Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, Danny Glover.

Rating:: 4/5

Playing: Gorbushka

I Am David

What They Say: The story of a Jewish boy who flees from a post WWII Bulgarian Communist forced labor camp en route to Denmark as per a plan set out for him by those who aided his escape. Guided by strict instructions, and the sporadic memories of his parents, the boy's journey begins to reveal to him a childhood brutally cut short.

What We Say: Perhaps it was because our serotonin was depleted from a little binge over the past week, but the film nearly made us misty-eyed during some moments. Unlike other films of similar themes, this one manages to capture something more personal without the need for macabre visuals to highlight the cruelty.

The Lowdown: It's obscure enough to impress intellectuals at a coffee shop.

Best Bit: When David's flashbacks are finally constructed to define the film's plot.

Starring: Ben Tibber, James Caviziel, Joan Plowright, Hristo Shopov.

Rating:: 5/5

Playing: Just outside your Moscow front door, in about two year's time.
